AMD Graphics Development History (3)

The seventh generation of ATI in 2001: Radeon 7000

In the previous year, ATI's Radeon series achieved good response, and the subsequent products began to be systematically launched, and ATI is truly known as starting from this generation. The Radeon 7000 has two chips, the high-end Radeon 7200 (R100 chip) and the low-end Radeon 7000 (RV100).

This generation of graphics cards is also based on a 0.18 micron process with 30 million transistors and support for DX 7.0. In addition to the 2D and video advantages of the Radeon 7000 series graphics cards, multi-monitor support and advanced DVI and TV output are also the highlights that attract users. This is not the case with most similar graphics cards at the time.
